Welfare Considerations

Dogs with CDS experience confusion, anxiety, and distress from a brain that no longer functions predictably. Disorientation at night, becoming lost in familiar spaces, and failing to recognise known people causes evident distress. With early recognition and appropriate management, quality of life can be maintained for significant periods. Without recognition and intervention, dogs suffer unnecessarily.
