Snare injuries represent one of the most significant welfare concerns for leopards across Africa and Asia, causing extreme and prolonged suffering. Trapped leopards may struggle for days before death or rescue. In areas close to human settlements, leopards face vehicle strikes, electrocution on power lines, and deliberate poisoning. Confiscated leopards often cannot be released and face life in inadequate sanctuaries.
