Flight is fundamental to bird welfare, yet most companion birds spend their lives in cages too small for meaningful flight.
Flight is not merely a mode of transport for birds — it is a fundamental expression of their physical and psychological nature. Birds confined to small cages develop muscle atrophy, stereotypic behaviours, and psychological distress. Feather destructive behaviour, sometimes called feather plucking, is a chronic welfare problem strongly linked to insufficient space, lack of flight opportunity, and inadequate enrichment. Every companion bird deserves meaningful daily flight opportunities.
