Translating welfare science from research into real-world practice is essential for welfare improvements to benefit animals.
The existence of welfare science does not automatically improve animal lives. Research must be translated into accessible guidance, delivered through trusted channels, and supported by economic or regulatory incentives for adoption. The gap between what welfare science says is possible and what farm animals actually experience is largely a dissemination and implementation problem. The Animal Welfare Hub exists as one part of this translation effort — making welfare science accessible to anyone who wants to act on it.
