Secondary poisoning from rodenticides causes prolonged internal bleeding, weakness, and slow death in raptors, mustelids, and canids that eat poisoned rodents. The animals suffer for days before dying. Lead poisoning from ammunition causes progressive neurological damage, seizures, and death in eagles and condors who eat gut piles from hunted deer. Both are entirely preventable with existing alternatives.
