Film and television production using animals has seen significant welfare improvements since the introduction of on-set monitoring programs. The No Animals Were Harmed credit — awarded by American Humane — provides some accountability in US productions. However, monitoring coverage is incomplete, foreign productions operate under different standards, and the standards themselves are not uniformly rigorous.
