Farmed ducks are denied the water access they require as aquatic birds, preventing bathing, swimming, and bill dipping behavior that is essential for eye and nasal health. Foie gras production causes liver enlargement to 10 times normal size, causing pain, difficulty breathing, and impaired mobility. Force-fed ducks cannot escape the procedure and show clear distress.
