Canine cognitive dysfunction syndrome (CDS) is a progressive neurological condition in senior dogs that causes confusion, memory loss, and behavioural changes — and significantly affects their quality of life.
Dogs with CDS experience genuine cognitive and emotional suffering. Disorientation, anxiety, and loss of familiar routines cause real distress. Many dogs with CDS vocalise at night, lose interest in food, and withdraw from family interactions they once enjoyed. Without intervention, quality of life deteriorates substantially.
