Dairy goats face many of the same welfare challenges as dairy cattle but in systems that receive less regulatory attention and public scrutiny, making goat welfare reform an important priority.

Consumers choosing goat dairy products as a perceived ethical alternative should apply the same welfare scrutiny they would to cow dairy.
