AMR integrated management demonstrates that protecting individual animal welfare and preserving antibiotic effectiveness for future human and animal health are complementary goals rather than competing priorities. Farms with better welfare conditions require fewer antibiotics, use them more selectively when needed, and thereby contribute less to resistance development. This alignment means that advocating for welfare improvement in livestock systems is simultaneously advocating for the long-term preservation of effective medical treatments.
