Commercial pollination bee welfare is shaped by the cumulative stress burden of multiple stressors. Transported colonies face physical disruption, arrive at nutritionally limited monocultures, and are exposed to the pesticides that protect those crops. Individual bees show impaired navigation, foraging, and immune function under this stress burden. Colony losses in commercial pollination operations far exceed those in stationary beekeeping.
