The Animal Welfare Hub has grown to cover tens of thousands of species, welfare challenges, and actionable solutions. Reflecting on what 100,000 pages of welfare content represents helps focus ongoing advocacy and action.
The breadth of animal welfare as a field reflects the sheer number of species and contexts in which animals suffer and flourish. From the pig in a gestation crate to the migratory bird buffeted by climate change, from the zebrafish in a laboratory to the whale entangled in fishing gear - welfare concerns touch every ecosystem and every human-animal relationship. Addressing this requires action at every level: individual consumer choices, corporate policy change, legislative reform, and cultural transformation. No single action is sufficient, but every action matters. The accumulation of evidence, advocacy, and individual choices is creating measurable change - more animals living better lives than would have been the case without the efforts of the welfare community.
