The animal welfare challenge is enormous in scale - hundreds of billions of farmed animals, trillions of wild animals, and a vast space of uncertainty about less-studied species. But the trajectory of progress is real. Factory farming practices once considered immovable are changing through sustained advocacy. Legal protections once thought impossible are becoming reality. Consumer behaviours are shifting. Scientific understanding of animal sentience is deepening and broadening. This resource exists to accelerate that progress by putting evidence in the hands of people who want to help. The work continues.
