Pressure wraps (Thundershirts and equivalents) are widely used for dog anxiety - the evidence base is mixed and integration with behaviour modification is important.
Dog anxiety is a significant welfare problem affecting an estimated 25-30% of pet dogs. Pressure wraps offer a non-pharmaceutical option that may help some dogs but should not replace evidence-based behaviour modification. The best welfare outcomes come from early identification of anxiety, environmental management (avoiding triggers), desensitisation and counter-conditioning protocols, and appropriate pharmacological support where needed. Pressure wraps may provide acute relief during unavoidable anxiety triggers like fireworks but are not a long-term solution without addressing the underlying anxiety.
