Non-lethal pest control methods for wildlife conflicts are increasingly available and can replace lethal control while maintaining effective management outcomes.
Lethal pest control causes direct welfare harm to target animals and risk to non-target species. Non-lethal alternatives that are equally effective are ethically preferable. Greater investment in non-lethal methods research and uptake is needed across agricultural and conservation contexts.
