Peregrines have colonised UK cities where they nest on buildings and cathedrals, creating new welfare considerations for urban birds and their interactions with humans.
Urban peregrines face specific welfare challenges including collision risks with buildings and glass, vehicle strike during low flights and human disturbance at nest sites. Management of nest sites to reduce disturbance while enabling public engagement is a welfare priority.
