Animal welfare advocacy is most effective when based on evidence about what changes systems, engages producers and consumers constructively, and focuses on achievable goals.
The most impactful animal welfare advocacy combines system-level policy change, corporate engagement, consumer education and economic incentives for producers. Individual consumer choice matters but affects only a small fraction of production. Strategic campaigns that identify leverage points in supply chains and engage decision-makers with credible evidence and practical solutions achieve the greatest welfare gains per unit of effort.
