Wild animal suffering from disease, predation, and starvation vastly exceeds human-caused welfare harms. Ethical frameworks for responding are an emerging field.
Wild animal suffering at scale is perhaps the most confronting welfare consideration - the vast majority of suffering ever experienced by sentient creatures has occurred in natural settings, not human-caused ones. This does not eliminate the importance of reducing human-caused harm, but it points toward the enormous potential welfare value of interventions that improve conditions for wild animal populations where feasible and appropriate.
