Feline panleukopenia (feline parvovirus) is a highly contagious and often fatal disease that is fully preventable through vaccination, with shelter cats at highest risk.
Panleukopenia causes severe suffering through gastrointestinal haemorrhage, sepsis, and rapid deterioration. Vaccination is highly effective and prevents this entirely preventable welfare catastrophe. Shelter vaccination programmes are one of the highest-impact welfare interventions in feline medicine.
