Bovine respiratory disease (BRD) is the most costly cattle disease globally, causing significant welfare harm that is largely preventable through management and vaccination.
BRD causes severe respiratory distress, fever, and without treatment, death. Prevention through stress reduction at weaning and transport, vaccination, and good nutritional management prevents the majority of cases and represents both a welfare and economic priority.
