Precision livestock farming (PLF) uses sensors and data analytics to monitor individual animal welfare at scale, enabling earlier intervention and better outcomes.
Precision livestock farming has the potential to transform cattle welfare monitoring by providing continuous, objective assessment of individual animals. Early detection allows earlier treatment with better outcomes. However, PLF data only improves welfare if acted upon appropriately. Training stockpersons to use PLF data effectively is as important as the technology itself.
