Feline panleukopenia (FPV), or feline parvovirus, is a highly contagious and often fatal disease in cats, but vaccination provides near-complete protection.
FPV causes devastating illness including severe vomiting, diarrhoea, immunosuppression and death. Kittens are particularly vulnerable. The disease is entirely preventable through core vaccination, and maintaining high vaccination rates in cat populations protects even unvaccinated individuals through herd immunity.
