Chronic otitis externa affects a significant proportion of dogs and causes ongoing pain and discomfort that frequently goes undertreated.
Chronic ear disease is painful and discomfort often manifests subtly as head shaking, scratching, or behavioural change. Many dogs live with inadequately managed ear pain for extended periods. Identifying and treating the underlying cause - usually allergy - is essential for long-term welfare. Ear disease should not be accepted as normal in susceptible breeds.
