Canine parvovirus causes devastating gastrointestinal disease particularly in puppies, with vaccination providing near-complete prevention.
Parvovirus causes immense suffering - dehydration, vomiting, bloody diarrhoea, and sepsis are intensely painful experiences. Affected puppies frequently die despite intensive treatment. Vaccination prevents this entirely preventable disease and is one of the most important welfare interventions available. Unvaccinated puppy populations remain at serious risk, particularly in low-income areas.
