Feline panleukopenia is a severe and often fatal disease that is entirely preventable through vaccination, remaining a welfare threat in unvaccinated populations.
Panleukopenia causes severe gastrointestinal disease, immunosuppression, and death in a majority of affected kittens. The suffering of affected kittens is extreme and the disease kills rapidly. Vaccination completely prevents this entirely preventable condition and is one of the highest-impact welfare interventions available to cat owners and shelters.
