Farmed Pig Welfare Charity Effectiveness: Where to Give

Effective giving for pig welfare requires evaluation of which organisations achieve the most welfare improvement per donation.

Key Facts

Compassion in World Farming focuses on corporate and policy campaigns with measurable commitments
The Humane League's corporate campaign approach achieves binding commitments from major food companies
Open Philanthropy funds pig welfare research and large-scale movement building
Consumer education campaigns that change purchasing behaviour create sustained market pressure

Welfare Considerations

Not all animal welfare organisations achieve equal impact per donation. Organisations with measurable outcome commitments, transparent reporting, and cost-effectiveness evaluation provide the strongest evidence for donation impact. Effective giving for pigs means choosing organisations with demonstrated leverage over industry behaviour.
