Evidence-based guidance on rabbit housing, social companionship, and welfare needs.
Companion rabbit welfare is frequently compromised by inadequate housing, solitary keeping, and owner misunderstanding of rabbit needs. Rabbits are highly social, require significant space, and have complex dietary needs. The gap between traditional hutch keeping and science-based welfare standards is large. Education, appropriate legislation, and retailer responsibility are all needed to close this gap.
