Overview of the welfare science transition from generating evidence to enabling action at scale.
Animal welfare science is transitioning from primarily generating evidence about animal experience to actively addressing how that evidence translates into practice and policy change. Implementation science, behaviour change research, and welfare economics are complementary disciplines that complete the evidence-to-action pipeline. Science communication research is improving public engagement with welfare science. This transition toward application-oriented welfare science is essential for converting knowledge into actual welfare improvement.
