Welfare Considerations

Feral cats exist in a welfare grey zone. Truly feral adults cannot be domesticated and face chronic welfare challenges from disease, injury, and harsh weather. TNR reduces suffering from breeding-related injuries and disease while allowing cats to live out their natural lives. However, TNR cats continue to kill wildlife and may suffer from unmanageable health problems without adequate veterinary care.
