Welfare Considerations

Dehorned rhinos may face challenges in interspecific conflicts and protecting calves. Translocation and relocation for conservation is stressful and requires careful management. Captive breeding for conservation involves welfare compromises from confinement. The stress of living in high-density anti-poaching surveillance zones may affect rhino behaviour.
