Welfare Considerations

Fading kittens experience rapid welfare deterioration through cold, hypoglycaemia, and infection. Warming to normal body temperature, followed by oral glucose and then feeding, restores welfare in recoverable cases. Early identification of non-viable kittens with congenital abnormalities supports timely euthanasia decisions.
