Gastrointestinal stasis is one of the most common and dangerous conditions in domestic rabbits. The gut slows or stops, causing pain, toxin buildup and death within hours if untreated.

Welfare Considerations

Prevention through adequate hay provision and rapid veterinary response are essential welfare priorities.
