Expanding our evidence base for animal welfare worldwide
The Animal Welfare Hub has now published 9,600 pages of evidence-based information covering the welfare of animals in all contexts. From companion animals in urban homes to fish in aquaculture systems, wildlife in fragmented habitats to livestock in modern farming systems, the hub continues to expand its coverage of the full spectrum of animal welfare.
Since our last milestone at 9,500 pages, the hub has added 100 new pages covering species and welfare topics that were previously unrepresented or underrepresented. New additions include welfare assessments for emerging aquaculture species, detailed coverage of farm animal disease management, companion animal health conditions, and wildlife conservation challenges across the UK and beyond.
Animal welfare is not a single issue but a vast, interconnected web of challenges and opportunities. Each new page adds depth to our understanding and provides practical guidance that can translate into better outcomes for animals. Whether a farmer looking for lameness prevention information, a cat owner concerned about their pet's health, or a conservationist seeking evidence on habitat management, the hub aims to be a reliable and accessible resource.
