Welfare Considerations

Dehydration causes progressive welfare compromise — lethargy, sunken eyes, skin tenting, and circulatory collapse in severe cases. Welfare-focused fluid therapy assesses dehydration severity clinically, chooses the appropriate route (oral for mild-moderate, IV for severe), and monitors response. Providing adequate clean water access at all times is the primary welfare prevention for dehydration.
