Delayed veterinary treatment means painful conditions persist untreated for days or weeks. Cost barriers prevent some farmers from calling vets for conditions they would otherwise treat. Geographic isolation in remote areas adds travel costs and time delays. The result is preventable suffering at scale. Policy solutions including increased subsidy for farm health planning visits and expanded paraprofessional roles could address this at population level.
