Welfare Considerations

Climate-driven upslope shift of alpine vegetation is reducing the area of open rocky meadow habitat on which water pipits depend for breeding. At higher altitudes there is simply no further habitat available as the treeline rises, creating an ecological dead end for strictly alpine species.
